MOSS 2007 :- Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID failed due to the following error: 800703fa.

We were getting COM exceptions on our MOSS 2007 site which is installed on Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 64 bit.

IISRESET was solving the issue for sometime and this error would still appear.

The issue is really not MOSS issue but IIS 7.0 issue and all you need to do is to go the application pool identity of the web application and set “Load User Profile” = true
